SEPTA Kicks Off Fall Commuter’s Choice Campaign

PHILADELPHIA, PA (October, 2010)—SEPTA will kick off its fall Commuter’s Choice Campaign with two events in the suburbs promoting money-saving benefit programs for employees that use public transit.

SEPTA’s Commuter’s Choice offers four programs for employers who want to provide transit discounts for their employees. The programs include ComPass, TransitChek, WageWorks and WiredCommute. Federal Tax Code 132F now allows for employees to receive double the savings as a tax-free benefit. Employers can help their staff members get to work on SEPTA stress-free with more money in their pockets.

A SEPTA Hybrid bus fully wrapped in the Commuter’s Choice message, showcasing the many perks of the program, will be on site at each event.

Event dates include:

  • Thursday, October 21st at the Penn State Great Valley Campus, 30 East Swedesford Road in Malvern, PA from 11am-2pm.
  • Tuesday, October 26th at the Renaissance Business Park, 3200 Horizon Drive King of Prussia, PA, from 11am-2pm.

A special raffle will highlight each event, providing commuters with the opportunity to win Cirque du Soleil tickets, Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus tickets, Disney on Ice: Toy Story 3 tickets, Cleopatra Tickets to the Franklin Institute and a $15 i-tunes download gift card. SEPTA employees will also be on hand to hand out Commuter’s Choice Program brochures, giveaways and refreshments.

Commuter’s Choice Events

The Sales Department recently kicked-off their Commuter’s Choice campaign with a series of events around the city promoting the program’s benefits for all SEPTA commuters. SEPTA employees handed out Commuter’s Choice program brochures and riders received giveaways and refreshments.

The events, which were held around town in front of various Center City businesses, including the Comcast Center, The Shops at Liberty Place, Reading Terminal Market, and in University City, promoted the perks of participating in the Commuter’s Choice program. The events were a hit among commuters, who entered a raffle for tickets to a Phillies game. Fourteen of the 25 raffle winners picked up their Phillies tickets during an event with SEPTA officials in front of a specially wrapped Commuter’s Choice Hybrid bus parked outside SEPTA’s headquarters.

Providing our riders with knowledge about these programs is important for the region as a whole.”
